Obstacle Detection Companion

OPTICKER

Opticker solves the above challenges and empowers visually impaired through independent and safe mobility.

World is a beautiful canvas which god has painted in reds and blues. The joy of experiencing this plethoric beauty is incomparable.

According to a survey by World Health Organization (WHO) 285 million people are visually impaired worldwide, 39 million are blind and 246 have low vision. About 90% of the world’s visually impaired live in developing countries (India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Indonesia etc). Even Indian has topped the 2020 International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Report of "The 10 countries with the highest number of persons with vision loss". For the indigents blindness is a curse.

Thus we at STAYIVE have tried to contribute toward helping specially abled people to do their daily chores independently. We have developed an electronic automated walking stick, which is affordable, easy to maintain and comfortable to use. Low power consumption and fast charging are the added advantages of the stick.

Future Scope

The Global Positioning System (GPS) which could help provide the destined route information to the user and help him to find the shortest possible way for that destination. A variety of other sensors like the water sensor could be attached to the stick which could help the user to sense water,  facilitating safe walk and avoids slipping. Our stick could also be linked with the Aadhar card of the user, helping the government serve the specially abled people in a better manner.
